When the righteous are gathered When the sinners are disgraced When the angels give an account When the earth gives up its share When the sea gives up its share When the prophets are assembled When a decree for judgment is issued When the wages are earned When eternity or damnation is decreed I will give thanks for i lived I will give thanks i was gifted with life I will give thanks i learnt to love I will give thanks i learnt to share The gift endowed in me The love peace and joy The knowledge of holiness The understanding of purity The acknowledgement of the divine The assured path of truth and righteousness The sword of justice and fairness in truth I will give thanks i knew her I will give thanks in her hands i forgot all else I will give thanks i found her and she found me I will give thanks i learnt to partake the glory of love For the price of life can only be found in the glory of love For the redemption of a soul is to find favor from the Holy one For in living you walk a path your very steps the ink For its the ink which writes an account of all your deeds
