Second Place

I have chosen the song Pretending from Joe Bonamassa's, British Blues Explosion Album and I am inspired to write new lyrics. ~ and they go like this ~ (Intro piano playing) The tale of my life, is a sad story where there is grief, hard to hold memories, put in a box some new, some old and at mossy tombstones, I stand weep, weeping, in the dappled light memories lurking haunting my night I walk through life, a shadow pretending Is this my story ? I put on a happy mask, pretending Can I ,let go of this ? Pretending, pretending Pretending, pretending Pretending I want, just a normal life and I want, love I know it is possible, because some have but, can I let go, of my love, above I walk through life, a shadow pretending and at mossy tombstones, I stand I put on my happy mask, pretending Pretending, pretending Pretending, pretending I walk through life, a shadow pretending I put on a happy mask, pretending Pretending, pretending Pretending, pretending Pretending (Blues guitar interlude) Lost in long past reverie a dark cloak of death Jesus, I want to find peace I hate all this forever more pretending And I wish, just wish I could to stop pretending I hate all this forever more pretending And I wish, just wish I could to stop pretending Pretending, pretending Pretending, pretending Pretending (Blues guitar interlude) Poetry/Lyric/Pretending Copyright Protected, ID 05-1549-335-23 All Rights Reserved, 2023, Constance La France
