Preposterous

Preposterous that she should spank her little boy For being sleepy at eight o’clock in a fine restaurant [Preposterous that I didn’t tell her what I thought About her inappropriate, unstylish, huge bouffant!] I would have gotten the whole incident off my chest Stepping outside my comfort zone, saying my piece, But I would’ve jeopardized our whole family dynamic By coming down on my insipid, lousy-parenting niece.

I had to grit my teeth. I can't abide that sort of thing. But, it is important to keep the family dynamic in tact wherever possible.

Thanks, Jan. It was way down on the list, and I really didn't expect a mention, but I enjoyed writing it.

It's something I've observed too and it must be so difficult to have to keep one's mouth zipped, well penned Milton:-) hugs Jan xx

Amen! People need a license for most anything, but any idiot can have a baby. Sometimes, mostly at Walmart, I am horrified by some people's behavior and once or twice (when I don't think I'll be shot) I have intervened. Well and truthfully said! ...CayCay

Thank you, CayCay. Yes, you do have to be very careful about intervening. But, I think we often want to do so, particularly on behalf of a child.

That is so true, Unseeking Seeker, and unfortunately none of us can cure all the ills of our society. A tight lip is generally the best way to respond to injustice.
