Preferring Stars

Dating, in many ways, is sort of like driving – one comes to an intersection... there is a red and green, caution yellow for Slow Down!~ Do you have a license?-- Frankly, at my my age, I better like those often ticketed and well traveled...myself, no-longer feeling time nor patience to teach~ not willing to trust my heart to modern GPS, still preferring the twinkles of stars....

I think many ladies wished they had have had a yellow and red light with them on a date. Nice poem Joe.

A military like campaign for too many. I hear you. Have been guilty myself -- one thing nice about getting over youth -- the aches and pains in this respect well worth the true love gained.

GPS can be misleading many a time, making one take the circuitious route. "Prefer the twinkle of stars." such a cute expression. In our time, dating was not known. I have never dated.... ! Don't regret it too. As ever, a sweet poem with some striking images. I like the analogy of dating to driving. We have to observe the traffic rules.... :)

I really never really dated much either in the traditional sense. Often wondering what it would have been like to be a bit more normal? Who knows!? Every life is a unique story of its own. Blessings my friend.

One can love at any age, right. I didn’t get your poem was about driving but, a great comparison to it. Powerful last line… “ still preferring the twinkle of the stars”. Pangie xo

I hear you, Victor; I drove for a living a large part of my life, so the last thing in the world I like to do on a weekend is go for a drive. Blessings my friend.

Don't let the stars get in your eyes Don't let the moon break your heart Love blooms at night In daylight it dies (Ray Price) My dad made a movie out of so many pictures he took of my mom. Mostly 50’s love songs throughout…mostly sad. Still a beautiful tribute! At least an hour long.

Sentimental old men...I've become one in my latter years. Often listening to the Platters, Brenda Lee and the likes. Grew up on, Don't let the moon break your heart and That's Amore -- love it! My wife and I are both musically inclined, so, it is a lively house, fortunately still blessed to have each other as company. Blessings my friend.

Hi Sunshine -- Nothing ventured, nothing gained. A heart must brave, or remain only a facsimile. Blessings my friend!

Hi Kim; I guess I'm still stuck in the love songs of 40's and 50's. Have a blessed day my friend. Thank you.
