Precious Sights
The afternoon sun shines softly on the leaves
Summer’s warmth returns, while the clouds drift
Away, away, as the weather decides to shift
The trees wave happily, in the soft blowing breeze
There is nothing to do this moment, but rest
Watching the sun lower, in the distant pale blue sky
Listening to the peaceful music from nearby
I notice the happy bird’s delicate, balancing, nest
All the simple things waiting around to be found
I pick the two cherries hanging on the cherry tree
Shining ripe hanging from the branch, waiting for me
Before they may fall downward, onto the ground
Sunlight dances across the paper, where I write
Words spilling from within this restful moment
Taking in all the sweet beauty that has been sent
From a creator, giving us these precious sights
