"A Memory"
__________
I remember when we sat together,
and the breeze was a soft gentle feather-
. . . at the fountain even in cold weather.
We talked about our future plans and life,
I was so very proud to be your wife-
you would pick me some bright purple loose strife.
We threw pennies in the water falling,
and in the tangled trees birds were calling-
. . . deep in the fountain goldfish were lolling.
