Precious Life

She sometimes thinks Of her good fortune She’s been lucky She’s been blessed Still were she alone Come flood or fire She’d be happy to escape With nothing more Than her five little kittens Bundled tightly in her arms Knowing what’s most precious Is the miracle of life itself posted on February 6, 2019

I have been flooded; it's difficult, especially if you're allergic to mold. To come home and find such is devastating. Well penned.

We've recently returned from holiday to find a leaking pipe - carpet ruined but apart from that nothing we can't cope with. I can't imagine the impact of a fire or serious flood where everything is damaged beyond all recognition, life is so precious and to escape with those sweet kittens is admirable line:-) hugs Jan xx

Yes, we have to save our beloved pets. My dog is closer to me than some humans. We've been together over ten years. Love your poem, good luck with the contest!
