Poetry Before Stories

POETRY BEFORE STORIES Milt's had me thinking on poetry forms and when they were first invented, just for me to get thrown into just how old poetry was in the first place, strangely it was used in all forms of writing when it all first began as a way to help us all to remember better.
Poetry from old,
used before worded stories,
helped us remember.
Poetry was also used almost in everyday activities . . . So, it would kinda have gone like this . . .
Seven sheaf's of corn,
delivered to the pharaoh,
by tomorrow morn.
Or, my shopping list . . .
One large loaf of bread,
one carton of best butter,
one jar of meat spread.

Aw, thanks Indiana for the mention. I hope I can always be encouraging to you. Yep, looks like my shopping list, too. I went today, and I can't tell you how many items I picked up and then put back because they were just too expensive for my budget. Hopefully, the powers that be can get this inflation under control so I don't have to plant a garden!

I'm stuck when picking a item up, saying is it Brexit, Covid, or war that I am paying the price for here, as for the veggies, you do not have to plant a whole garden, just some plastic planters will do, you're not feeding a whole army . . . yet ; )

Hello Indiana Shaw, simple enough. You must have something else on your mind. It can happen to anyone. Hugs.
