~ Poetic Mind Renewal ~ Get busy and toss the mind junk out! I know what it is like, to sink into a dark cesspool of poetic funk. Reading those who are soul crushers? To put me down, or their other gambit is to ignore me totally, poet mind shushes! Go ahead, go for it! The wise ones here write, they know prizes are so very, very, trite. You need another to tell you, your poem is great? I find that it so unpoetic, my dear mate. You throw us a poem once in a while? Even if you win howling recognition, You are guilty of poetic malnutrition! Pound those keys, show us what you've got! The more you write is what makes you so truly, deliciously hot. Poets produce, they allow their pen to flow. No excuses from a Muse named Joe! Try all the forms you can. That's what makes you a true poet, woman or man! Like Shakespeare, no, you need not be. Being you in a poem, rings true for me. Commenting over poetry, a dead end street. I, personally, encourage you to think again as comments though a tasty treat.. will never expand your poetic expertise. Some here have been writing for sixty years! Some, far less~ so what~ stop those tears! 9/3/2021

Wow! I wrote 1st poem at 10, totally received “So what?” response from family. Resulted, my passion for poetry continued, but my self-esteem took a slice. I’ve found lots of poets have low s-est, cause in general people don’t get it & its reception not like instant smiles painters get. Nice view in this. Made me think. Thanks for that. Sally

Sally, dearest Sally! Remember how good your poetry is. Reread all you posted at the Soup, at home and every other site. Poetry is not as popular as fiction. There you are putting your heart out and people just don’t get it. I do understand that. Sometimes they will. In any endeavor in life, people are Dream crushers, rarely dream builders. Even at this site, Sally. You must be your own cheering section. Top notch poets here are ignored... the Look inside. People are very selfish. There are some loving poets here, some will hate you because you write better or more than they. I stay away from all contests. But others adore them. Cool. I don’t need my poetry put down by people with no poetic bckg no at all. Nice people here but some not nice. That disappointed me, jealousy is rampant.keep writing, be real, be you. Please? Love you, Panagiota. Block arrogant or mean poets. There are a few here. Such snakes.

I do really think that poets should comment on the words of other poets/poetess...but really comment -- really read...and feel -- we learn and are inspired by the works of others. No one wants a hurried, fake comment, slam, bam, thank you mam or sir. Contests are fine -- I have nothing against them...I think it is important to try different forms, for increasing one's ability to express -- too selfish now I prefer just to wing-it...but I did first travel the path. Excellent write!!

I dislike cookie cutter comments. Oh, God. PRINCE...we are not seers ..we think so, do we not?We are just plain writers doing our best. I have come to realize people have other things to do in life besides read our oh so enlightened souls. Writing and being creative in poetry frees the mind and is a wonderful way for self expression. A great poem.
