Pleonexia
Stars like sapphires sparkling in midnight
gazing while the earth’s wonder fades
the last of the living light disappearing
and the planet rolls into the darkness
in the hills there is the last whispering of trees
as the water, the air all perish slowly
life moves into the shadows.
soon there will be no more time
the dark angels stand near to witness
the last gentle stroke of embracing love
the final wish to shelter one’s children from harm
the last wisp of breath that fades
as death and darkness begin to rise
even so scattered in the darkest skies
are cosmic crystals — crushed particles
released from the earths rocks and bones
sparkling dust enters a living energy -- a mystery
—- a universe of ever transforming eternity
