Will you give it a try? Vs 1 I knew that I loved you, the first time we met... I knew you needed love, I'll never forget... Vs 2 With you life is special, our own paradise... When you said that you loved me, I didn't think twice... Chorus I need you...to promise me that you'll still be there... in my time of need... I need you...to laugh and to cry when you think of our love, before life passed me by I need you...to promise me that you'll always be happy, when you remember me, Will you give it a try? Please tell me you'll try Vs 3 Every day I still cherish, each moment with you... Now my days are numbered, so precious and few... Vs 4 Please tell me you'll be there, right by my side... Please tell me you love me, when it's my time to die... Chorus I need you...to promise me that you'll still be there... in my time of need... We all want to know our loved ones will be okay after our passing... Knowing their willingness to remember us with a smile and try to keep on keeping on helps to instill some sense of peace into the saddest situation... Lovely lyrics.

My friend, this was sad, just the thought of letting her know it's ok to move on after you're gone, wow...I real heart squeezer. I feel a slow melody coming with this one. Really nice John

such a poignant heartfelt write, the kind of lyrics some of the best sad songs are made of (like seasons in the sun) this one takes the reader into that pain, the journey of love, till death comes...then the tears of lonely years... great write! :) hugs

Thanks Sandy for your uplifting comment, I also thought of Terry Jacks seasons in the sun, I was a teenager when that came out and it made an impact in my memory obviously. I'm like you, I try to write happy songs but it usually ends up sad

Oh John this was so sad!;( It brought a tear to my eyes when I read! Brought back some memories I try to forget but still.. beautifully expressed and I'd read it again even with tears! Simply loved it!;)
