fertile ground was found the soil a rich deep dark brown the seeds were welcomed

This is a lot deeper than it seems, you need strong foundations to develop and grow, if you have weak ones then all you will do is wilt and wither away prematurely... great message in your poem.. make sure your foundations are strong and capable of helping you to blossom in the best way possible.. Another great haiku dear Bill..

the soil has to be fertile in order for seeds to grow. Metaphorical and deep words in just a few lines in this Senyru. Wow, Bill! You nailed this one, hugs from me to you.

'a deep dark brown' in Zebulon (Iowa). They call the soil there 'black gold.'

nice one Bill. I have been building new garden beds for spring. Here in the Ozarks, everything has to be planted in raised beds because of the rocks.

That's some beautiful country up there in the Ozarks, Jerry. We've made a couple of trips up through there going to Little Rock and Missouri. Sara read some of her stories on the radio in Little Rock, "Tales of the South". We were put up in a B&B and had a great time. We've been thinking of going back for a relaxing vacation sometime. The raised beds work out pretty well if you like taking care of your plants. Have a good day, my friend. Bill
