Notes About The Poem

For Greg Bardens new contest

Pitiful Illusions

Pitiful illusions

I've had spectral visions, haunt me in my dreams
Spinning my meditations, into nightmarish schemes
My pitiful illusions, scatter in depth of night
Mourning has broken...darkness conquers daylight

i think we have all had these nightmares that haunt within the darkness...i know i have, some seem all too real at times! I like this one, great choice for the contest.. i will have to venture over and check the whole poem out when time allows...it's been crazy busy at work with so many out and at home with the funeral...i am lacking in time and behind in reading and writing...but trying... hugs :)

Sometimes, it's not as magical as it seems. In dreams. It happens! I suppose that is why it is called a "Nightmare" An illusion is simply that- an illusion. ~ Brandy

Those would be exactly the kind of lines to appeal to Greg's vision of good poetry. I'm going to have to read the original poem now. Well wishes for the contest, J.D.

Hey Lin, thanks for dropping by, yeah I think I know what he likes, this was from my poem that won POTD a while back, I don't do many poems but this one should do ok, I rarely enter contests...too much like work lol!
Date: 12/18/2019 3:18:00 PM
A wonderful verse to enter in the contest. This could stand on it's own very easily my friend. Best wishes in the contest
