Gently caressing the air with long branches Giving hope to the hand of the Creator Gliding gently past dreadful avalanches Emerald pine, white birch and trees much greater Enlighten hearts who long for the earth’s insights Encouraging leaves who fall a bit later Sunshine dawns to touch the earth with tender lights Sinking into the rich, dark earth filled with shame Singing to dark night for the forest’s last rites Without remorse, this earth we will curse and maim Wishing for the truth of silent salvation Warming the heart of the gentle stream’s proclaim How can we survive this sad, wild damnation? Hoping we can heal this land called creation! While Mother Earth Gently Moans Poetry Contest Sponsored by: D.W. Rodgers February 14, 2021

Regina, yes, I know, it makes me so sad, the beauty & the damnation upon our precious gift of the Earth. This comforts me though <3 "For the creation waits in eager expectation for the children of God to be revealed. 20For the creation was subjected to frustration, not by its own choice, but by the will of the one who subjected it, in hope 21that the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the freedom and glory of the children of God." Regina, this is a vividly descriptive message about how we have failed to take care of this awesome planet God gave us to enjoy and TAKE CARE OF! Janice

I could smell those pines. There is a lot of imagery in this piece, each line is slathered with it, and I love all of it. As the poem progresses each line becomes as beautiful as the last.
