Persistence
her persistence
brought the fact
that she was
obsessed
to the mind of
her dearest
compadres &
they watched
as with each
passing day
the object of
her obsession
became more &
more all that she
would live to be---
while this scared
them they
remembered the
her that existed
prior to this
obsession &
remembered how
lost & how depressed
she seemed to walk
in the world---
now, she was
determined to get
somewhere,
she was determined
to meet someone,
she was determined
to become something
else
which might prove to
get her through,
but it all weighed upon
the success of her
persistence,
the meeting of her
obsession &
if her strength came
from the process of
that challenge,
they feared what would
happen afterward,
if she attained her
goal.
