I bought a hammock Granted myself permission to daydream The dog is confused He's lay underneath as I'm out of reach Meaning I need to be a hammock expert And not fall out It's all the things I wanted it to be Like a comforting embrace Soothing as I sway With just the right amount of breeze gently caressing my skin The fabric billows slightly over my face like soft kisses As I cocoon myself inside I could be anywhere

Tte feel and experience of being in a hammock comes alive in this poem .....gave voice to memories. An excellent write DD..

Thank you Paul, this is another one I thought should be discarded but let sit awhile just because it was a different feel of poem for me (a bit cheerier!). The dog eventually figured out he could get in with me and balance was perfected. Thanks for your kind words. I wish I'd bought one earlier, absolutely lovely (I kept getting evicted by my daughter's though, so might not be my hammock long)
