Perhaps a Past Life
I feel such an affinity for the earth
For rivers, mountains and wild things
At times I feel I've been here before,
Before the angst the modern world brings
Was I a maiden, with long black hair
Who lived beside the great waters
Did I follow the buffalo, the people's path
Perhaps I was a warrior's daughter
In my dreams I hear the beat of the drum
And the smell of the campfire comes to me
Yet in the light of day I pause to wonder
If it was just a dream, or perhaps a memory
