Peace of Mind

i shall begin a new way of life- take pride in the medallion strength that flourished from my ebon shadows believe a year of turning forty is a year of new beginnings; not moments of trudging over hills but walking toward the threshold of peace of mind why peace of mind? for way too long, i have been chained to rusty walls of loss- cemented to flooded floors with brass shackles holding me back; keeping me from following my dreams i now sleep in a new bed in a new home i left behind the triggers to my chase, threw away pain’s debris- o, life made a mess of me; but now i live content and warm- hold his hand while we sleep with a silent peace of mind why peace of mind? love grows best in little houses and mine is perfect
