You lash out, speaking ill of love, because you're feeling wounded. Your pain fuels anger and you let it take control. Someone has hurt you and you want to send that hurt back. A sorrowful review of love lost to time and yet, kept alive in memory, nonetheless. Betrayal shook your foundations and an implosion of feelings broke your heart into a thousand pieces. And now you use anger to protect yourself from the jagged edges of reality, refusing to surrender your feelings meekly. And your cry is added to the countless others whose tears get hidden behind a shield of anger. We are all subject to our baser needs and emotions, desires, and failures form the clay from which anger takes its shape. Your attacks allow you to evade sharing the blame, and yet, you can't see that, blinded by your pain. Corrosive, raw rage eats away at your heart spiting up the vile contempt that hurt wallows in...as love dies. (Free Verse) 02/02/2020
