Over the Elements
I want to fly
High in the sky
But my wings are clipped
In the earth I'm strapped
Bound to the ground
Dreaming with the skies
My mind soar high
My screams follow behind
I want to swim
In this blue and calm sea
But my fins are shackled
At this anchor that keeps dragging me
To this cold and dark abyss
Where I can't seem to breathe
Where water turns into molasses
All becoming too hard for me
I want to run free
In this endless white sand
Galloping on these dunes
My mane flying in the air
My hooves eating the ground
But all they find is quicksand
my desperate moves making me sink
The pressure more than I can stand
I want to build a bonfire
To bathe in it's warmth
Let the fire rid me from this cold
That shatters me from inside
And maybe like the Phoenix
I'll have a new start
I'll reborn from my ashes
All the pain left behind
But I won't forget all that I went thru
My scars will be the reminder
That even wanting to succumb,
I never gave up, I kept fighting...
