Actions Speak

I’ve never been what you’d call outspoken; my approach is to hang back and take note. Perceiving injustice my heart cried, “Quit!” Fearful, I lingered, silence unbroken. Unwilling, my voice stayed stuck in my throat - apathetic, reluctant, unfit. Insults and put-downs I wished to curtail. Teased for his buck teeth; Bob stuttered a bit; I sit with him at lunch which gets their goat. Actions can speak. When words have no avail - outwit. Very good reasoning, Reason. I should bite my tongue more often. Well-written. Good luck in the contest.

I am learning that more and more re my husband; arguments over small things are futile and useless. At our ages, little can be said to change mindset; so I just act in accordance with what I think. Thanks for commenting.

Had to get that word, curtail, in there somewhere and it fit, I think. A curtal sonnet is curtailed from 14 to 11 lines. I welcome your comment and appreciate your time and energy.
