Outside My Window
Me, a feline colony and a turtle,
are all presently looking outside my window,
where there stands one single solitary tree,
and perched among its branches with its remaining leaves,
are a great many birds of varied species.
At this moment I realize that I'm extremely lucky,
to be sharing such quality time among so many,
separate species so completely so different than me,
all just hanging out with each other, relaxed in perfect harmony.
Very rarely do I experience such elation like this with my own specie,
...sadly.
