Our Limits

Some people never get beyond The basics with a skill Although, with years of practice You would think they’d learn the drill. No matter what it is – the arts Or sport or crafts or food Or dance or music – we don’t all Possess the aptitude. Some either quit or get resigned To mediocrity, While others just deny the truth That all but them can see. We can’t all reach the level Of the ones who are the best, But we must accept our limits Though they’re painful to digest.

You know, skill is one thing; enjoyment is another. E.g., I so enjoy hitting my thumb with a hammer trying to put up my Sukkah, or ... Playing that Hayden Concerto for the 758th time -- wrong! lol. Thanks, ilene.

Yep, we must all accept our limitations, but always try to exceed them rather than resign ourselves to them.

Very true it is hard to accept that. The overcomers keep trying till they get it right. I feel that way in my older age now. I wish I would have taken more trades. Sometimes it is better to pay someone for their skills realizing you do not have what it takes to perform the task...
