Our Limits
Some people never get beyond
The basics with a skill
Although, with years of practice
You would think they’d learn the drill.
No matter what it is – the arts
Or sport or crafts or food
Or dance or music – we don’t all
Possess the aptitude.
Some either quit or get resigned
To mediocrity,
While others just deny the truth
That all but them can see.
We can’t all reach the level
Of the ones who are the best,
But we must accept our limits
Though they’re painful to digest.
