Our Heroes

Their finest hours are in dangerous places Where injury and death may quickly threaten They see agony and despair in our faces When we are in danger of imminent peril. They are heroes, our first responders who, Meet the worst kind of conditions head-on In times of disaster know exactly what to do, And fearlessly face the worst situations. We owe them our undying appreciation So, we salute their generous, giving spirit And acknowledge their gallant deeds Who brave, caring people who rescue us.

I do not think it is an accident that you used the words "head on" here. I like it!

Thanks, I am so happy you wrote this, because I went back and read the poem and found the typo and corrected it! You could have said I had a funny spelling for "conditions." Thanks, Caren.

Thanks to you and to them. What would we do without them?
