Our First Tv

1952 was my first experience with TV A magical revolutionary new invention allowing Moving visuals to be transmitted into our homes So rudimentary like magic seeing Magic it was for that long ago time However colour was years in the future They were ecstatic just to have this new invention Our fantastic new TV was super Neighbours were invited into our home To share in this wonderful the new experience They were totally aghast without exception At what lay ahead for all were delirious My dad was overjoyed to be able to introduce TV To such a small number of people that he could But that small number of people has grown To very many more addicts over the decades

Addicts indeed my friend. I did not have to worry about such a thing when my daughters were growing up. Most of their time was spent outside or in their imagination. Now however, with my seven-year-old, I have to be very careful the amount of time he spends on devices.
