Opening Day 2016 - For Contest
Opening Day 2016 (anacreontic verse)
If it rains
droplets
piercing cold
curse not
imagined
Goddesses
nor summon
power from
remorseless
Gods.
Hold fast to
ageless youth
seize hope’s
listless will.
Raise high
her tattered
Red Sox
banner,
huddle with
the cheering
masses. Order
two dogs,
everything,
two beers,
ice cold.
Feel the
heartbeats
pounding roar
gauntlet thrown,
PLAY BALL!
