Soup bowls and mugs come in all sizes                                                                
Onions swimming in broth with wonderful spices                                                         
Under the melted cheese is the crusty bread                                                               
Please, more before I go to bed

Mmmm, Your poem smells so good Paula. I have to learn to make it, as it is my daughter's favorite:) I was glad to read Gary's comment below. Neat! It made me think of the reason we have sandwiches now. The history of the sandwich came from a wish from the Earl of Sandwich in 1762. Now I want onion soup and a sandwich! Yummy, Paula. I simply love your poetry :0)

Thanks for your visit/note. Glad you enjoyed my "Onion Soup" write. You can cheat my using a can of onion soup, add sliced onions/cook to tender. Add old bread to top then add cheese to top/bake until cheese melts. I also enjoyed reading Gary's comment. Have great day.....................

I think adding the crusty bread on the top of the onion soup then add cheese to the top and bake until you have melted cheese is what makes it French onion soup. I do not know about the history of the soup. I do know it is a great soup and not hard to make. Have great day.....................

Love it! The acrostic and the soup. :) Legend has it that French onion soup was invented by King Louis XV back in the C17. I don't know about that but, for me, the recipe never dates. Nice one. Cheers - Gary
