One Walk Away (From My Secret Sin)
We’ve come so far
But as thine is the kingdom
We don’t know where we are
The shadows beneath me
Grasp ever so toward me
As the heavens breech me
As arrogant as I am
The lessons I learn still don’t bother to teach me
A day at a time, Father, My lord
For you are all that I can afford
But we are now just one walk away
Late night phone calls
Don’t we just wish we could relive them all
My childhood dreams was in and out of foster homes
What do you call home?
I'm four years old and standing alone
I only pray that we are one walk away
They ask us why we pleasure being mutilated
Just saw a little boy hang himself
I guess he couldn’t take being humiliated
When I was younger
I’d bury my face in my pillow and pray that I didn't wake
By all means I wish what I'm saying was fake
We are but one walk away
My life is something lived in feign
Sadness reigns
Insanity is the new claim
Maybe my faults are absolved
But what problem does that solve
My eyes itch
I think I died trying to relax in hot tubs
Trying to find out what your love does
I swear I cried blood
But we are now but one walk away
