One Sunflower's Life

One Sunflower’s Life Please, oh, please Don’t dig me For I have just begun to grow. “Did I hear a weed’s soft voice? Did it bid me make a choice”? My curious heart deemed it so. Each day a tender stalk I nourished Tiny wild ruffled leaves flourished; Foot after foot they reached. Turned toward the sun its golden face Claims its oddly potted place, Its veracity to teach.

Love your defense of the sunflower. Made me think of my first reaction on seeing the impetuous bloom. Love, daver
