One Moment

I want to have one moment, to live out a fantasy. One that I have created in the depth of my mind. It would be the ultimate, to have this moment to see, how it would feel to leave the burdens of life behind. I want my heart and soul to be able to fly, as high and as far as they could go Into a beautiful endless sky, and leave everything else below. To be free of all the ugliness that I carry with me, to feel only joy as I continue to fly. To see only beauty as far as my eyes could see. To be able to tell they that linger; goodbye. Only a moment, it is all that I ask, But it would be worth everything to finally see, who I really am, the real me behind my mask. Just one moment, to soar, to feel free.

I can do this at night sometimes: "to feel only joy as I continue to fly. To see only beauty as far as my eyes could see." and it is wonderful! I highly recommend it, Sandra.

Wow, you have described my life long fantasy, of wishing I could fly just like you describe. Even as a child, I wanted to be able to fly like a bird. And freedom is important to me too. Excellent poem Sandra. I love it :) a favorite.
