One Less Star
... Look now toward heaven, and tell the stars,
if thou be able to number them: and he said
unto him, so shall thy seed be
--- God speaking to Abraham
Gen. 15:5
Children of no faith,
wanting no children
Barren seeds from an aborted line
populate an empty sky
Approach the throne, arc-her Joan ...
why does your quiver have no arrows?
Coals of juniper will warm your empty womb
On resurrection day, why does your family plot
have but one tomb?
Just you, only you alone
You say if delivered God's Word,
you would believe
But you cast away two seeds from your womb,
when God blessed you to conceive
You robbed heaven of perhaps two stars;
life that was extinguished, denied a birth
Go pray to your goddess Noitroba,
then bury your unborn children in the landfills of the earth
Heaven has one less star, or two,
and what blessing should be given to you?
Jesus said, bring to Him the little children,
what children did you bring to him?
Jesus commanded us to multiply God's family,
but you took one less star from the sky permanently
Don't you know, you removed yourself
because of unbelief
Children of no faith,
wanting no children:
Number your seeds in the dust
When the new heaven is aglow with new stars,
those innumerable children of God ...
empty shame will cover your aborted trust
