One Gray Hair

I scream when I find one gray hair
visible on top of my head
I’m bereft; I stomp and I swear …
there’s no point getting out of bed 
I WON’T apply
Smelly hair dye!

My girlfriends will giggle and stare,
going gray is something we dread
BUT no one would know it was there
If I just remove it instead!
I tug it out
then smile and pout

I found out when you pull them out sometimes two grow back in. Haha. I got my first gray hair when I was only 16. A great entry! Congratulations on your wonderful win Jan! xxoo : )

You brought forth my laughter and concern because I thought the final two lines of each stanza had to have the same rhyme pattern. Oh, my brain - I had noted them as c/c and d/d yet still got it wrong! All fixed thanks to finding this. My gray began in 7th grade, each strand curly and my Mom loved plucking them so I relate to this, have for a long time! Hugs ... CayCay

I think you may have a winner here. Seems to me I remember my mother saying something to the effect, pull one out and you get two more to replace it. Hmm, I'm bald as a billiard ball. All gray would be welcomed.
