One and Alone
It's grimly harsh to dwell alone
As onward creeps the biting frost,
That in a quiet of night’s chill
A warm embrace is my heart’s need ...
For with this season's change, I know,
How love reveals its kindled flame
To gently counter sorrows past,
Enshrining moments long desired--
Yet all I feel is moonlight’s hush
Where gardens lay their colors by.
And though I catch a windy tune,
It's grimly harsh to dwell alone.
