On Writing In Rhyme
On Writing in Rhyme
Write a rhyme, oh write a rhyme,
As if provoking thought is a crime.
I’ll tell you now, I’ve heard this line,
Always from those, who like to whine.
As if your rhyme makes you a big deal,
The rest of us, some putrid third wheel.
I've never written to earn my next meal,
I write what I like, and I write what I feel.
Go grace these pages with dribble and drab,
As long as it rhymes, you’ll think it’s just fab.
So, knock yourself out, go ahead and just blab,
If this leaves you wounded, don’t pick at the scab.
