On Learning About When Moon Is Seen By Day - Edited

One day (I don’t remember when), but I
could see the moon quite clearly in the sky.
It made me feel like things had gone awry!
Silly thought, I had one – could moon then be the sun?
Was sun now on the run – no, sun had well begun.
I wish I could recall the time of day
when old man moon seemed so well on display
or if the sky were bright or a bit gray.
The facts gave me a feast - this much I found at least:
well after new moon's ceased – the sun sets in the east.
The sun and sky give proof we can't deny
and show when moon is seen by anyone.
In daylight, one should not the moon survey.
If it is full, then we have all been fleeced.

Andrea, congratulations on receiving the award for poem of the day. I’ve often seen the moon in daylight and wondered why, now I know the reason we sometimes see sun and moon in the sky… Belle

Dear Andrea, "the Moon actually shines bright enough that you can see it in the day, as long as it's in the right part of the sky." Stars are even there, but it's hard to see them during the day, because the sun is shining so bright. I find that so fascinating. Your thoughts are beautiful in every way. Congratulations my dear friend, on Poem of the Day. My best to you. :) Hugs, Brandy

Nice, Andrea. Several of the rhyme words used, I think are considered feminine because the accent is not on the last syllable? Correct me if I'm wrong. Congratulations on POTD!

Well done. When I have my grandson that is 4 will ask me, " Where is the moon?" or "Where is the sun, grandma." when it's going down the horizon. Congratulations on POTD

Congratulations on the award of POTD! I think that in my 69 years I seen the moon at day a few times. Never gave it much thought, as I was far too busy making a living. God bless..

For me, Sunday is a holy day and I read poems late in the afternoon. I will probably see this poem among those poems which are my favorites. Be as it may be my CONGRATULATIONS for your PODT. I have seen very rarely, the moon and the sun at the same time during the day. But what an original sonnet. What a great idea. A delightful poem worthy of a POTD. My congratulations once more. Hugs xx
