On Going Grey

I never worried about going grey
Though on growing a beard I did dismay
Of femininity I didn't despair
Stroking the wisdom in my new chin hair

Maureen, I'm a little behind in reading on Soup. In trying to catch up, I ran across this one. It reminded me of two well known characters: Said the tortoise to the hare You're all hairy I'm all bare But in a race, I beat you there You may not win when in a race But you're still cute with your hairy face Loved your poem!

Aha! So Jack would not de-hair in solidarity, but you'd whisker up like him? Of course. He is VERY wise! Sorry, won't join you... too itchy. I've got the grey part down though;-) tnx for the chuckle ~ j

Oh, my goodness ... you gave this old lion a big Cheshire cat grin. This is one cool self-deprecating poem, Maureen. Your golden pen shines! I love you just the way your are, dear. Pure poetry. Love and joy always.

Ha! oh Mo, Ha! You cracked me up again! You are on a roll with these humorous poems my friend! I got grey hair when I was in my 20's, I'm an early bird, now that I'm older I have a LOT of grey hair, and my father has white hair, so now I know what I'm going to have someday! Of course that is what hair I have left, I'm nearing baldness, sigh! Don't worry Mo, while you pluck, don't forget it does come back a LOT softer and sometimes not as long! I loved your clever write, Great Work Maureen!

My moments of vanity tend to be as sparse as my whiskers :) I would love a silver fox mane, I don't dye to cover the greys rather just drawn to brilliant colours, who knows, I might stop when I get enough grey... Thank you dear poet, delighted you enjoyed! xomo :)

I was nearly gray by 30 and never had a problem with it, except now at 79 it's trying to hold on what's fast falling out. I've many humorous poems on the subject. Love the last line of yours. Thanks for the stop. Best to you. / M
