On Falling For Someone the Universe Does Not Want You To Have
dear universe,
this is a massive “screw you” to you.
this is the biggest “ off” that i can muster, what with my bleeding heart on the floor and all over my hands.
dear universe,
i mean no disrespect.
dear universe,
scratch that.
i do.
screw you for putting someone in my path that i can only look at, but not touch.
for giving me ample opportunities with even more consequences in tow.
dear universe,
this is persephone.
i’d like to stay in the underworld,
stuck in the undertow,
barely clawing my way out.
barely trying to stay alive.
dear universe,
none of this is fair.
dear universe,
checkmate.
