an
eagle soars
high in the sky
catches a strong wind
watches below
views his tiny prey
sets his sights dives
with speed, efficiency
aims for his food
catches with talons
then strong wings
lift upward once again
his shining white aims for safety
upon a cliff where he can eat fish
unless he has parenting responsibilities
then his prize he carries to the nest
he feeds the young, the future generation, hopes
odds being against them, how many will survive
their numbers are growing again, mending
soon they will rule
the skies once more
with their shrill cries
nesting on high, soar
feel the wind beneath
their wings, see for miles
live, love, sing
enjoy
raise their young
soak up the sun
thank God each
day for His
awesome love
praise Him
in
flight
in
love
each day
