On a Blanket of Leaves

on a blanket of fallen leaves within night's shadows i wish upon the stars as they flicker between the clouds on the threshold of darkness we’re aglow through dreams tonight we have the moon its fullness filling the voids of empty arms kisses blowing softly on the breeze my desires touching back love lingering on the wings of restlessness these leaves beneath me crumbling within the rise of thoughts of tomorrow's rain peeking through the distance but tonight brings you in a blanket of thoughts through dreams

it's frigid here in my part of the world...and now we have wind driven rains to add to the coldness...i will be a soggy blanket of chill walking in this for sure... hugs :)

'Let us enjoy tonight; who needs tomorrow.' I think those are the words to a dated popular song, and perhaps a fitting 'afterword' to your poem, which stir and swirl within your reader's soul, much as the autumn leaves do in the wind. Beautiful! Warmest wishes, Gershon

And what wonderful dreams they must be. If they are half as beautiful as this poem then I know they are wonderful dreams. Your words cascade softly down the page as softly and delicately as a leaf twirling on an autumn breeze. Simply beautiful my friend.

Thank you my friend...the orange near full moon weaving in and out of clouds inspired me...today we have less beautiful skies.... those leaves will be soaring high in the winds... hugs :)

thank you Vijay...i went out last night for a short drive, the moon looked orange but was moving in and out of clouds, it inspired me, though today arose very dismal, we are expecting heavy wind driven rains...hugs
