Old Man Stop, Let Your Mind Return To See
Old man, what kind of poet will you be
write of tall tales, pirates on high seas?
Perhaps adventures in mystical realms,
with love stories, romance that overwhelms?
Old man, why does your pen have no more words
your blue skies lack color and songbirds?
Has life and love now let your sad soul down?
Your big smile and great joy both wear a frown?
Old man stop, let your mind return to see
flower's beauty, ripe fruit from Nature's trees.
Drink again, waters from love and life's wells
taste desserts, enjoy aromatic smells.
Old man, think harder, look again at me.
I, your heart lust for life, long to be free!
