The picture I see
is of old growth trees,
with deep scarred hued bark,
and bright green moss draped,
and filigree ferns,
with wild tangled vines.
Less and less remain,
trees lost to logging,
impacts on climate,
impacts on creatures,
a hush is falling,
in the rainforest.
The picture I see
of these old growth trees,
make me want to weep,
soon they will be gone,
just a picture seen
in a book perhaps.
