Old-School

My aunt, who is nobody’s fool, Has the attitude, slightly old-school, That when giving a gift, Though it gives her a lift, Some acknowledgement should be the rule. If a thank you is simply too hard, Then her efforts seem, sadly, quite marred. When next year rolls around She will cover that ground Sending nothing, except for a card.

I solved this problem years ago, Ilene, I didn't send anyone a gift so expected none in return. It still works. / M

We have friends who do exactly the same as your aunt, if her gifts aren't acknowledged then that's the last one they send. I always insisted son did thank you letters for Christmas presents, we always had to do it and its only polite:-) Sadly letter writing is a dying art:-(

It's amazing how thank you's are hard to come by these days. It's an epidemic.Too old-school?

I think if I were to ever spend time with you, I would surely ink myself. You consistently deliver wit and humor; this limerick is no exception. By the way, I think I know your aunt! Poetry hugs ... CayCay
