Oh, Go Away Yesterday
When love forsaken pierces my coarse sigh
The hymns of willow leaves speak of goodbye;
As the coming dusk hauls stars, I reply--
‘OH, go away, yesterday.’
Breathless, this mid-life grows dreary, so old
While photographs hang of stories untold
Reflecting waxed candles filled with times’ mould
OH, go away, yesterday.
With hope to reach destiny bold, I fight...
To embrace the pureness of morns, its delight
Invoking fate a most wondrous act of rite
OH, go away, yesterday.
And sullen winds ruffle, a curtain call
That my raw emotions, lonesome, befall
On prayers not granted by seasons that crawl
OH, go away, yesterday.
