this was silly me in Junior school daydreaming all the time about some cute guy who couldn't care less about me. Thankfully things picked up in high school but mostly from older guys who I met outside of high school as I working at a convenience store. haha

__________________________________________________________________________

His eyes, like cornflowers, are pretty blue. From where I sit in back of class, I gaze at his soft lips – two petals sweet with dew. I think that I could stare at him for days, imagining at least a hundred ways to make him finally aware of me! Oh, dreamy boy, please take the time to see the girl whose heart begins to palpitate when you look back at her – though randomly! You’re keeping me too long in this dream state. I remember the crush I had in 7th grade He was so cute and friendly, but going steady. Needless to say, we were friends only. Thanks for reminding me of a nice friendship :)

Dreams and crushes which often came to naught, especially when shyness kept them at bay. Your poem is lovely and still retains the freshness of when it first occurred, Andrea. ~ Regards // paul

This is so sweet. My memory flew backwards to the seventh grade. There was a shy boy in my class, and I was a very shy girl who was captivated by him. He noticed me, and shyly smiled. No words, but he gave me a necklace, for Valentine's Day, and a smile. I gave him a sack of homemade sugar cookies, and a smile. That was the culmination of our romantic classroom interlude, we never spoke :) his eyes were the color of cornflowers, a pretty blue, similar to the boy in your story :)

I was in 4th grade and liked this one 6th grader but was too shy to say so then he’s telling me how a differently boy liked me. No girl wants to be overlooked by the guy with dreamy eyes ;) I enjoyed your dizain. Congratulations on your win!

Missed many of the lessons I was meant to learn while participating in this type of behavior in Jr High and High School. We all just want to be notice for who we are, and long to express the feeling of romance and even passion we feel when we're alone. Good entry, Andrea. We may be kindred souls? :-) Bill

you never know, Bill. I bet there are a lot of us daydreamers out there. I kind of stopped doing it after I married. The older you get, the less you daydream (in my opinion).

You have tapped into a universal sensation (at least among teenagers), that of unrequited infatuation. How hard it was to not be noticed by the one we find so attractive! Lovely dizain, my friend, with your usual flawless flow and rhyme.

Such a good looking fine lady you are now imagine you as a little girl with pigtails oh so cute How could he not notice you but little boys take longer to grow up than little girls breaking our hearts in the meantime - cute poem! Hugs and blessings Jennifer

This is so cute Andrea, how young teen age girls have romantic day dreams about the boys of their affections. Music usually plays a large part of the daydreaming too. I know I will be going through this with my granddaughter when she turns into a teenager. Right now she’s only going to be 10 in two weeks. I enjoyed this. Blessings xxoo

This is a personal sharing that many can relate to. I know the feeling. I once got excited to just stare at 'his' house, wondering if he were home. I think at that age the daydreams were in there own way - exciting. I was in love (oh, gosh, I can't remember his name, I've always remembered it - Peter?? - the lead singer for Hermans Hermits - Peter Noon sounds right) anyway, what girl cannot 'step' into your poem and not understand the feeling! Check your soupmail and you'll find me there.

yeah, I had at least five crushes and the main one in jr. high, I still remember his name, Dan Olsen, and how I would go past his house wondering if he was in there. I'd make a good stalker, haha.

Well done, indeed, Andrea! So sad they did not teach pheromones at your school, but there is nothing "silly" about being human! Aloha!
