Oh, the Grief, the Stabbing --

Grief penetrates a person with untold, pain and sorrow, a life lost, ever cold; the puncture, the piercing permeates deep, a thick mask hides the truth that comes in sleep. I want to shout loud with booming screams, memories and sadness swirl in my dreams; I am empty, alone in my torment, aching, bursting with sad disappointment. On my knees, I ask God, when will this end? When will this shattered heart finally mend. ________________________________ February 28, 2015 Poetry/Rhyme/Oh, the grief, the stabbing -- Copyright Protected 02-645-372-28 All Rights Reserved, 2015, Constance La France Entered in the Standard contest, Pierced, sponsor Rob Carmack, N/A, Judged 03/2015

Yes, I don't know what he would like in his contest either, but you followed the rules of syllable count and produced a poignant piece of poetry. Good luck. I am the one who needs a lot of luck with MY entry. I had to revise it at the last moment because I had not realized the syllable count had to be the same on each line!

Deep is this pain that pierces the heart . . . only one who has experienced this pain can articulate the depth of despair . . . broken before God. 7, fav

Reads like a winner to me..Way to go..Everyone grieves differently but there are similiarities with each person..You have expressed it well..Thanks for droppiing by..It is been gray a lot here for the last two years which can begin to grate on one's emotions..Sara
