Another poem was recently posted about this same piece of art. And though I am a big fan of Van Gogh's work, it is one with which I was not famiiar before. It speaks of the labors of the comman man just trying to survive. Excellent description of a fine artist's work! Love you! Carolyn

Very good poetry. Pls delete "a" in the first line and re-entry at once... since 5/7/7 is choka's cylab. I enjoyed reading it. All the best.

You have brought out the somber, rather dark side of this unusual painting! Well done, Barbara! ~ Carrie

Excellent piece , Barbara and it could also apply to Ireland in the mid 1800's , when the potato was the staple diet of the time . A 3 year blight then , obliterated the Irish people , and reduced it's population by 2/3 million , due to starvation and emmigration .
