Ode To Summer

Summer days drift away carrying freedom's smile in tow misted rainbows make memories lost within a kink in the hose Drips from the faucet start to slow marigolds out in the fading garden gasp for one last and final drink before bowing to a hardened earth Darkness takes over daydreams beating down ever-early new sunsets water fowl sing their final goodbyes as with warm breezes south they fly Farewell my love farewell I weep for your return

I do love the summer but the damned heat down here is overwhelming at times. This is a beautiful "ode" My friend. Fear not, summer will return soon enough.

It is with no sadness that I bid farewell to Texas summers. I pray for the comforting thoughts of hot chocolate by a fireplace during a raging snow storm, nice write Tim...

Great write Tim. I find each season brings out different feelings but you have captured summer so elegantly. Blessings Carl

The new seasons are great with the cool nights, windows open, snuggling under the covers but I do hate to see her go. Thank you Charma
