Ode to My Amber Green Eyes

Deep pools of amber-green fire
You sizzle with my topaz energy
Gold flecks of electric vitality
Change to chartreuse coals of passion
You sing of my Celtic heritage,
Poetic legends of Valkyrie,
In flashing loden bonfires
Tigers mesmerized in beryl depths
Find serenity in green ocean waves
To my lyrics of lush summer forests.

Hi Sam green eyes are very unusual and your green eyes must be absolutely magnetic. My mom had a greenish blue coloured eyes and our grand-daughter has inherited them. A really lovely POEM MY FRIEND. Keep well and keep writing your wonderful poetry. Hugs galore Jennifer.

this is so descriptive, Sam. So lovely. I supposedly have green eyes, but I don't really think so. They are like a mix of green and blue and I can't really decide WHAT they are, so for many years I used beautiful colors of contact lenses that got me lots of compliments, so probably I'd have done an ode to my eyes same as you did here. Congrats in my contest.

They seem to reflect my inner fire, my passion for writing and enthusiasm for life. One of my sons has blue eyes, my husband has blue-grey eyes and our oldest son has amber green eyes!! The two of us seem to reflect our Celtic heritage! Had such fun creating the imagery. So glad you liked it. Sending you amber-green blessings and continued prayers for the recovery of your hand!

Thank you, Kim! So glad you enjoyed my ode. Turns out my eye color is only shared by about 3% of the population and is a reflection of my Celtic and Germanic heritage but doesn't take into account my Scandinavian, Dutch, English, Scotch or American Indian blood! I am truly an all American mutt! This was a fun contest as I get many compliments on my eyes especially when I wear green or gold!! Blessing of joy to you!
