Ode To Azaleas

No work or worry is required of me. You grace my yard year after year-- ravishing red, pleasing pink, and wondrous white. Your appealing petals steal my attention from the engrossing novel I hold while resting on the porch. You thrive despite gusting winter-like winds and floods, but your lease on life is short. Your flourishing blooms are destined to diminish and die by late-April, so I will gratefully enjoy you while I can! March 11, 2018, entered in Brian Strand's March 18 Premiere Contest
