October Anniversaries

OCTOBER One is for Columbus, Two my Lady This tropical place rattles memory -- Third cannot be memory of Autumn The tropics dance to another rhythm Yet where I am now, I choose happiness New phones compress space; I see my Princess The mind has its ways; we may love the heart It will surprise, enthrall, tear one apart How then to keep mindful and less with mind? "Renew" it, said Paul, but no details I find Reading between the lines, I feed my soul Keeping thought-life, feelings, free-will, whole Anniversaries may be happy and sad Always, though, October colors me glad
